Kitex Garments Ltd is planning to expand its production facilities in Kerala. It plans to increase production capacity from 6.2 lakhs pieces per day to over 22 lakh pieces per day by 2025. It will produce garments for new-born and babies up to two years. The company will also diversify production into new product lines like socks for children, baby diapers and baby wet wipes. The company is also setting up a cotton spinning mill with a production capacity of 80 tpd as a part of integration. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 9,100 million.
It may be noted that, the company supplies garments to Walmart, Target, Amazon, Carter’s, Oshkosh, Gerber, Buy Baby, Sam’s Club and other leading retailers.
